Location: Emerald City Enhanced Services (ECES), Lakewood, WA
Pay Range: $24–$28 per hour
Schedule: Approximately 20–25 hours per week, preferably Monday through Wednesday during daytime hours


Position Overview
Emerald City Enhanced Services (ECES) is a licensed Enhanced Service Facility serving 16 residents. We provide a structured, rotating menu that includes casseroles, freezer-friendly meals, and fresh, home-style breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.

We are seeking a reliable and efficient Lead Production Cook to support our kitchen operations. This role focuses on food preparation and production, menu planning, and dietary management, and works collaboratively with our Kitchen Manager.

This position works largely independently during scheduled shifts while coordinating with the Kitchen Manager to ensure timely and consistent meal preparation. It is well-suited for someone who enjoys hands-on cooking, values consistency, and prefers a predictable daytime schedule.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assemble weekly dinner meals according to established recipes and menus
  • Prepare casseroles and freezer-friendly meals for future service
  • Prepare featured breakfast and lunch items (offered three days per week)
  • Wash, cut, and portion fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Prepare sides, sauces, gravies, and starches
  • Slice deli meats and cheeses for resident meal service
  • Label, date, organize, and properly store prepared food items
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, cooling, and storage procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food storage areas
  • Assist with inventory organization and receiving deliveries as needed
  • Coordinate with the Kitchen Manager regarding production schedules and kitchen priorities

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced kitchen setting with multiple meal components prepared simultaneously
  • Independent work structure with support and coordination from the Kitchen Manager
  • Small team environment where consistency and reliability are essential

Required Qualifications

  • Washington State Food Worker Card
  • Experience preparing food in a commercial kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and proper food handling procedures
  • Ability to work independently and stay organized
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in assisted living, behavioral health, supportive housing, hospital, school, or institutional food service
  • Experience with batch cooking and preparing meals for groups
  • Experience with food labeling, inventory rotation, and portion control

Additional Information
This position is intended to function as a chef, dietary manager, and menu planner. The focus is on consistent execution of established recipes and supporting efficient kitchen operations.
